Further information on Asset Management is covered in the paper titled “Why Asset Life Management?”  This was presented at ICOMS 2004 and covered two case studies utilising the Asset Life Management System (ALMS).  This system aligns the requirements of a business and the performance of the assets through a modelling and scenario planning process to produce the information required to support management decisions.  Preparing long-term budgets, running what-if scenarios and demonstrating the consequences of arbitrary budget cuts are part of the benefits available to asset and maintenance managers.
